World premiere of an Opera based on the award-winning play by two-time Pulitzer winner Lynn Nottage, with music from Ricky Ian Gordon.

Set in New York City at the turn of the last century, Intimate Apparel follows Esther, a lonely African-American seamstress, who makes a living sewing elegant corsets and ladies undergarments. When she begins to exchange letters with a mysterious suitor working on the Panama Canal, she slowly learns that only her self-reliance and belief in herself will help her get through life’s challenges.

Tony winner Bartlett Sher directs.
