There are hundreds of baseball fields in New York City, and we've done the legwork on where to find them. There are fields in all five boroughs with grass, turf and concrete surfaces. Organized leagues or special events need a permit to use an athletic field or court. But if all you want to do is toss a ball back and forth with a friend or family member, we recommend simply heading to one of the open lawns in Central Park—outside of Yankee Stadium, is there any other place where you'd rather play catch?
